The 4.6 liter Ford Trigger Wheel is intended to replace the stock timing wheel on applications utilizing the ultra-high resolution Electromotive ignitions and engine management systems. Installation of this unit is quite straightforward: simply remove the stock trigger wheel and put the Electromotive wheel in its place. The stock crank sensor may be utilized as well. The polarity of the sensor is important, and wiring it incorrectly could cause erratic ignition events. See the drawing below to determine which wire to use for the + reference and which wire to use for the - reference. The terminal labeled + is the mag sensor wire, while the - terminal is the ground terminal.

One final note: this trigger wheel has a built-in "mechanical" advance of 6 degrees BTDC. Therefore, if ten degrees of advance is desired, you must enter 4 degrees into the software. If 35 degrees is desired, you must enter 29, and so on. This is done to ensure easy starting on engines with high cam overlap.
